ART IN TIMES OF WAR II

The international scene is suffering from two major conflicts that are affecting the physical and moral integrity of citizens. The Ukrainian and Palestinians instead of falling apart have raised their voices and have used art to go against the conflict, using art as a way of resistance.  (This week the publication will be focused on Palestina. Last week was about Ukrainian art in times of war .) OUR REASON FOR BEING

Even if art is an essential way af communicating social issues, and is able to change people's mindset, the work of the artists has been precarious all along history.  Only the 15% of the artists can live from art, and the 72% of them is under the poverty rate. This reality needs to be changed because although everybody consumes culture, not much artists become recognized because of their artworks.   Since I was six I have had a need to create, so I stated doing drama. It gave me the opportunity to communicate messages to an audience that was there to hear me. Since then, I've seen lots of actors, directors, dancers, etc that wanted to communicate messages and governments have banned them. I've also seen others that didn't have enough money to even buy a coffee. And also, others, that were painting or playing music in the streets to survive.
